Tanya Northcott : President and CEO Tanya Northcott
President and CEO
(Business Development)

For over 25 years, Tanya has forged new paths in the evolution of e-Learning. A literacy pioneer and Youth Employment Skills Canada coordinator in the 1980's, she became a founding principal and Regional Director for Western Canada for Pathfinder Learning Systems. Through this work, she inspired the early adoption of learning technologies in poorly funded urban education programs and remote and indigenous communities. In 1999, Tanya co-founded Odyssey Learning Systems with a vision of empowering learners to maximize their potential, regardless of who they are, how they learn, where they are, what language they speak. As an Industry leader and President and CEO of Odyssey, she seeks out strategic partnership, creates innovative business models and leads with strong vision and business acumen.

Brian Ward : Chief Financial Officer Brian Ward
Chief Financial Officer

Brian is a focused, strategic minded financial professional. His experience includes over 20 years financial accounting and management, 9 years public accounting and 5 years as an innovative leader in financial management for the technology industry. Other achievements include 5 years as Audit Manager, Deloitte and Touche, responsible for budgeting, management reporting, financial statement and corporate tax return preparation. Brain is recognized in the industry for his extremely well developed business management acumen, and ability to develop high quality strategic business plans through an organized, disciplined implementation approach

Randy LaBonte : Director (Corporate) Randy LaBonte
Director (Corporate)

Randy has designed workshops and training courses, served as corporate trainer for government, non-profit and corporate organizations and been an active sales leader and senior manager in non-profit and corporate organizations for over 20 years. As a senior manager and sales leader in Odyssey, he brings trained skills in sales, negotiation, team building, planning, and implementation. Randy has extensive background in the use and deployment of technology, and has earned a Ph.D. in computer-mediated learning technologies. Randy also has Baccalaureate and Master degrees in education.

Derek Henderson : IS Manager & Technical Lead Derek Henderson
IS Manager & Technical Lead

Derek has over 10 years experience in client-server development. He has DBA expertise in SYBASE, ORACLE, and WatcomSQL Anywhere. He also has expert programming skills in PowerBuilder, C, Visual Basic, C++, ASP, and Unix. He has served as a member of IEEE committees and is well read in the changing landscape of the e-Learning industry. He was senior developer, technical lead and project leader in a variety of major organizations and companies before coming to Odyssey. His enquiring mind and interest in the development of NautikosConnectTM and the Odyssey customer base makes him invaluable to the team. Derek brings a unique customer and sales-driven approach to overall technology design.

Tony Dobson : Academic Sales Tony Dobson
Academic Sales

Tony has been teaching for over 21 years in BC, 10 in alternate learning settings. In 1990, Tony discovered the Pathfinder Learning System and encouraged his school district to purchase the system for a "store front" school in a local shopping mall. His entrepreneurial enthusiasm allowed him to make this one of the first training centres to make money for the school district. Tony has applied these skills to his work as a passionate advocate for the company and its approach to learning. He is an engaging and passionate speaker about the application of NautikosConnect™ and its companion products to improving learning. Tony has led the academic sales team to expand Odyssey's share in traditional and aboriginal education markets.

Shelley Cridland : Product Manager Shelley Cridland
Product Manager

Shelley brings extensive classroom and information technology experience to her role as Product Manager at Odyssey. She has taught and managed computer-assisted and e-Learning approaches to a wide range of learners, including the visually disabled. She has provided staff and field training on computer-mediated learning technology implementation, technical support for e-Learning and has designed and executed hardware upgrades, security and network structures for computer systems. Shelley has initiated and overseen the development and importing of almost 200 third-party courses into the NautikosConnect™ platform as well as managed a superlative customer service and support program.

Ellen Kinsel : Operations Manager Ellen Kinsel
Operations Manager

Before joining the Odyssey team, Ellen worked in BC's Arrow Lakes school district for 19 years where she helped establish and build the innovative Facilitated Learning Program. As a facilitator for 3 district school sites, she worked with both teens and adults in a variety of subject areas, in both face-to-face and online learning environments. Ellen completed her Master's Degree in Distance Education online, which resulted in a unique understanding of online learning. As a trainer in the NautikosConnect™ environment, she combines her skills, education, and experience with a sense of humor.
