The live chat room is accessed from the menu on the toolbar. If the chat option is not listed, the learner has not been granted chat privileges or chat has been turned off for all users. 

Selecting Chat displays a screen with a list of all staff and learners with indicators of who is currently logged into Nautikos, who is inactive, and who is currently in the chat room.

Click to proceed to the chat room or to return to the previous screen.

Chat Screen Elements:

Displays the user's login and the time he entered the chat room.
Select a font from the drop down list.
Select a type size from the drop down list.
Select a text color from the drop down list.
Displays all users currently active in the chat room. Users are identified by their Nautikos login. Anonymous logins are not permitted.
Conversation Window Displays all messages added to the conversation labeled with the user ID of the sender. The command /clear will wipe the conversation window of all messages.
Enter text of message in the scrolling text box.
Sends text of message to the conversation.
Leave the chat room. Logging out of the chat room does not log the user out of Nautikos.
Print the contents of the conversation window.
