NECTAR Foundation Courses

Nectar FoundationOdyssey is proud to represent NECTAR (New Era Classroom Technology & Research) Foundation. NECTAR has Canadian curriculum based, multimedia distance education Language, Math and Science programs developed by teams of instructors, curriculum coordinators, subject consultants, computer consultants, software engineers, graphic artists and multimedia programmers. Available in both Windows or Mac platforms for standalone CD or network delivery, some are also available in French.

Educational Components
Each program includes three major educational components: Tutorial, Assessment and Learner Tracking:

  • The tutorial component has several interactive elearning components including an introduction, review, tutorial, exploratory activities, problem solving, practice questions and quizzes.
  • The assessment component includes two types of assessment tools: a learner generated practice for self assessment with an option for instructors to pre-select question sets for quizzes; and, class assessment profiles for instructor generated quizzes.
  • The learner tracking component records learner time and activity on the program. All quiz results and tutorial activity are recorded for instructor viewing. Learners can see their own results.

    A comprehensive instructor resource manual accompanies each program that includes:

  • additional resources for the classroom instructor including skill-based classroom activities, individual learner activities and culminating performance tasks that incorporate a number of skills in a meaningful context
